I think by reverting an Edge://flags feature - maybe the "block unsafe downloads over insecure connections ... "
The PDF is on a secure link. Resetting the flag had no effect.

I sent in a report to the Edge development team. Hopefully this will evolve. FWIW I'm using Edge v76.0.159.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit).

Currently rocking VS pro with Shadow Defender
With SD you need no other protection.
web and/or phishing protection.
That... but VS doesn't work that realm.

Weirdness. Chrome won't let me download the new beta ??? I click the link and the explorer window opens to my downloads folder, and I click OK. Nothing happens after that. There's no record in Chrome's Downloads list.

I open Firefox and do the same, and the download completes. What has Chrome snuck into my settings?

UPDATE1: If I go to the VS site, I can download the executable there... but on the executable here... Hmmm...
No issues here with the Latest Chrome Release and in my Download Folder.
Here's the culprit (see attachment)...

I have asked cruelsister why she fails to share her discoveries with VS when she did so with Comodo. No response to my post on her youtube video. It says alot when an individual will spend hours making videos, developing or locating cracks, testing exploits until one is found, and then when asked why they don't inform the developer to close the security loophole or vulnerability, they act like you just asked for 5 minutes with his wife.
Whoa. CS's VS video was made over 30 months ago (VS today is quite unlike VS in 2016). Her VS assessment ended on a positive note, saying...

Although this one remains in memory, on the whole a nice job with malware.
I was also wonderinq about the False positive rate for VS. I didn't cover it in this video, but when playing around some items I thought without doubt were going to trigger a False Alert! they didn't. VS exceeded my expectations in this area.
I hope that this gave a balanced view of VoodooShieId as it was recorded under sub-optimal conditions.
In the comments section, she added...

Voodooshield is a really good product- I initially thought I would be able to criticize it for many False positives, but was surprised that this was not the case- the few I discovered were totally justifiable.
CS should not be lumped with VS detractors.

After this news you got me curious :D
If i would install a file which is considered clean on Virus Total (at moment of install) and have checked "automatically allow items that match a digital signature in the whitelist snapshot does VS ever checks the file  again to see that Virus Total now flagged it as for example 4/64?
It would be too late for you. For if the file was unflagged initially, its payload would already be in your system working its deeds. Even if VT was rechecked later showing a disreputable rating, the damage would have already occurred.

This was a hit job and everyone knows it.
I continue to be amazed at the ferocity and the disingenuous lengths some go to denigrate VS. It's as if Dan is preaching the salvation of the Gospel. It is certain these attacks are less about VS but are vendettas against Dan. His detractors' actions testify to sad, empty lives.

Thrive on Dan.

the OP's intention is patently obvious.

That's an understatement. Later in the thread the OP says...

users should uninstall Voodooshield and just use uac

"Theater or the Absurd" is what this was called in my earlier days. Illogical conclusion. No uninstalling here.

the test was done in always on mode and the VT and ai showed zero. and so the user clicked allow on the vs prompt and when the uac prompt came up, the user clicked yes on that as well, infecting the mbr.
That is true, and it distracted me initially. However, had Autopilot or Smart been engaged, there would be no VS prompt and the executable would be permitted.... yes?

Got this pop up

during installation. I'm pretty sure this is due to Protected Folders, as I later disabled folder protection and reran the installer and all was quiet. Then again, I reactivated protected folders, reran the installer and the popup returned. It appears when shortcuts are written.
