Title: VoodooShield Releases Thread
Post by: Triple Helix on July 14, 2015, 06:04:17 pm
Traditional blacklist antivirus software attempts to block the 15,000+ new viruses a day. Antivirus companies cannot possibly keep up with all of the new viruses. VoodooShield will block all the executable code (including viruses), except the software you allow. Most viruses attack through Web browsers. VoodooShield uses a proprietary proactive whitelist approach to virus protection. When used properly, VoodooShield will effectively block ALL email and browser-based viruses and malware. VoodooShield is extremely fast and lightweight.

Since VoodooShield is completely different from traditional antivirus software, it is VITAL that you understand how it works in order to use it properly. Training VoodooShield is much easier and quicker than you would think. On average, it takes around a total of 10 minutes to train VoodooShield. Once VoodooShield is trained, you never have to worry about annoying AntiVirus pop ups and scans again.

• Added compression utilities to the vulnerable process list
• There was an extremely uncommon silent blocking issue when VS could not determine the absolute path, this is fixed
• Blocking in Disable / Install Mode should be fixed, if not, please let me know
• Regional bug when the system time was changed to a different format should be fixed
• Drag and drop and the right click context "VoodooShield Scan" now supports all file types
• Logging bug fixed
• Too many command lines were being added to the list... should be fixed
• Xcopy was being blocked by batch files
•"Threats Blocked: x" to be a clickable button that leads you to the UI section that shows your quarantine/blocked was added
• A lot of other small fixes

I just uploaded 3.51... there were not any fixes that should have broken anything, so I just uploaded it to the public. Usually, I like to see if you guys can run the new version for a few days, but I really needed to get this version out.

There were tons of small fixes, and I think everything you guys had posted since 3.50 is fixed, but if not, please let Alex or I know.

Here are the main fixes...

- Added compression utilities to the vulnerable process list... I think they are all included, but if you guys find another one, please let me know
- There was an extremely uncommon silent blocking issue when VS could not determine the absolute path, this is fixed
- Blocking in Disable / Install Mode should be fixed, if not, please let me know
- Regional bug when the system time was changed to a different format should be fixed, if not, please let me know
- Drag and drop and the right click context "VoodooShield Scan" now supports all file types
- Logging bug fixed
- Too many command lines were being added to the list... should be fixed, if not, please let me know
- Xcopy was being blocked by batch files
- "Threats Blocked: x" to be a clickable button that leads you to the UI section that shows your quarantine/blocked was added
- A lot of other small fixes

Title: dismhost.exe
Post by: Buddel on December 18, 2017, 11:55:30 am
VS keeps blocking the file dismhost.exe by Microsoft, which can be started from any location in the temp folder C:\users\XXX\appdata\local\temp\random-name\dismhost.exe.

As this file belongs to the OS (Windows 10 Home Premium), I don't think it should be blocked, shouldn't it? Whitelisting this file is not easy/possible because, as has been mentioned above, it can be started from any temp folder.

Is there a way to globally allow the execution of this file, maybe by using wildcards? Could you tell me what exactly needs to be done to resolve this problem?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Buddel (VS 3.59 Pro)

OK, thanks for clarification.

By the way, in which mode it's ON without an open browser?

I'm lost right know...

This's not about a 'Beta' version of VoodooShield, but it's about v 3.59.

I may stand to be corrected but 3.59 is the latest stable version from what I’m seeing. At least that’s what the download is saying on the website.

You're right, Hardhead. Latest stable version: 3.59, latest beta version: 4.14.

I'm lost right know...

This's not about a 'Beta' version of VoodooShield, but it's about v 3.59.

 :(

You have 3 threads:

1.VoodooShield Releases Thread ( announcements about new releases, Beta or not, and info about them )

2.VoodooShield Beta Thread ( everything about Voodoo from v1 to v4 )

3.VoodooShield v4 Beta Discussion ( everithing about v4... )

At least I understood this in that way :)

When I rethink about this, Questions about v3.59 (which is not Beta and not have it's own thread), I would post in "VoodooShield Releases Thread" like you did...so I apologize ;)

When you close the browser, and VS toggles off and it turns red, that doesn't mean it is really disabled. It is still running, but at a slightly lower level of protection. In order to disable, you need to choose the "disable" level.
The normal behavior is toggling between "on" and "off", in which both states provide protection.

I have been using a great program for some time.
I am very happy with his work.
I have version 3.59 and I am waiting for a stable version 4, I hope that it will be released soon, I am following every post about this software.

When it toggles "on", the system is "locked", as the dev puts it. It goes into the "locked" state because the system is at risk.
When it toggles "off", protection is lowered a little bit, so that certain background processes can take place unhindered.

I do not know what would that: "certain background processes can take place unhindered" be, but I know when "malcious aplication" runs, even if Voodoo is off, it will detect and offer to block, allow false positive, sandbox or quarantine anything from it.
My windows defender did not even twitch at that keygen  :'(
