For whomever didn't know it yet (people a bit slow like me ).

All the more reason to just uninstall Java and forget about it. I removed it from all of my systems three years ago and have not missed it one bit. Nothing I use requires it. The last hold-out I had was the game Minecraft my grandson played. But even that no longer requires Java.

I note the US Department of Homeland Security Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) has yet to rescind their January 2013 bulletin and still recommends users disable Java in browsers. I say, just uninstall it. It is highly unlikely you need it.

I have to disagree.
Several of my government's websites, a couple of my bank accounts and my medicare insurance account require Java.
I guess they too are a bit slow.
